Our story
Fourteen years of showing up in the same villages.
The Likmabam Bino Devi Foundation was not founded to launch a campaign. It was founded because a handful of people in Thoubal kept turning up for children nobody else was counting.
History
Begun in October 2011. Registered in 2022.
Since its founding the organisation has expanded continuously in social development service. It has worked for the promotion of education across rural areas and relief camps, and for the development of self-help groups and skilled training. The focus has always been on the disadvantaged and marginalised: children, women and tribal families.
In 2022 the foundation was registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and incorporated as a Section 8 non-profit company. The letterhead changed; the work did not.
The governing council meets at headquarters in Thoubal, Manipur, and is responsible for audit and budget, programme effectiveness, governance and administration. The chairwoman is the chief executive of the organisation.

What we are for
Vision
Contribute to the social and economic development of the communities.
Mission
Empowering lives through education and skill development for sustainable change.
We organise programmes that develop our societies through social work, education, sport and skill development, and disseminate that knowledge to the larger community through extension work at local and community level.
The record
How the foundation got here.
- 2011
The work begins
Founded in October by Likmabam Ibomcha and Konjengbam Bidyarani Devi, working without registration in rural Thoubal: book drives, school support and whatever the village in front of them needed that week.
- 2011–2021
A decade in the field
Steady expansion into relief camps, self-help groups and skill development, always with the same focus: children, women and tribal families at the edge of every other service.
- 2022
Formally registered
Incorporated as a Section 8 non-profit company with the Registrar of Companies, Delhi on 19 May 2022 (CIN U85300DL2022NPL397982), followed by 12A and 80G certification under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- 2023
Manipur responds to crisis
Convoys of food, bedding and hygiene kits delivered into camps and shelters across the state as thousands of families were displaced, and covered by Manipur's local press as it happened.
- 2024
Listed on NGO Darpan
Registered on NITI Aayog's NGO Darpan portal as DL/2024/0389382, with over 300 students recorded as supported in the period.
