Programme
Health & Family Welfare
Every third child born in India is underweight. Our health work starts from that fact and stays close to the ground: a hot meal that a child can count on, a medical camp within walking distance, clean water that does not have to be argued for.

How it works
The nutrition programme serves hot mid-day meals to young children in the villages we work in. It is the single most reliable lever we have on attendance: children come to school, and they stay through the afternoon.
We organise medical camps and health awareness sessions with visiting practitioners, with a particular focus on women's health, child health and HIV/AIDS awareness, where stigma still keeps people from asking questions in public.
Sanitation and safe drinking water run through everything else. A relief kit includes soap and sanitary supplies; a school session includes handwashing; a village meeting includes where the water is actually coming from.
On the ground
- Hot mid-day meals and nutrition support for young children
- Medical camps in partnership with visiting practitioners
- Health, hygiene and HIV/AIDS awareness sessions
- Sanitation drives and safe drinking water advocacy
- Support for elderly people living without family care
